John Boehner's Wall Street Journal Op-ed Failed

[Exclusive] Posted February 23, 2013 - By Lee Cary

When Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner wrote an op-ed piece for the Wall Street Journal he backed himself into a corner. Yet again.

Here’s his first paragraph:

A week from now, a dramatic new federal policy is set to go into effect that threatens U.S. national security, thousands of jobs and more. In a bit of irony, President Obama stood Tuesday with first responders who could lose their jobs if the policy goes into effect. Most Americans are just hearing about this Washington creation for the first time: the sequester. What they might not realize from Mr. Obama's statements is that it is a product of the president's own failed leadership.”

This piece is a tactical error by the G.O.P. leader who has, on repeated occasions, demonstrated an astonishing lack of 360° political awareness.

Brennan: from Barack to Benghazi

Posted February 23, 2013

Beyond his possible conversion to Islam, however, Brennan’s other actions are much more troubling, particularly as they relate to his past history with Obama, and more recent history related to Benghazi, drone warfare, and his involvement with an administrative “kill list.” It appears possible that, by nominating Brennan to be the nation’s top spy chief, Obama might be tying up loose ends that are shrouded by controversy. One loose end is the Benghazi operation and the manner in which an obscure Internet video was immediately blamed. Yet another loose end relates to Obama’s passport records while he was on the campaign trail in 2008. These two significant incidents involving questions and controversy, lies and murder, are like bookends to a four-year stint in a star chamber.

Based on extensive investigation by this author, the former might well relate to the latter, as determined by the “digital footprints” and historical digital records of both incidents. Investigation of both incidents finds common digital forensic factors that suggest that the same person or persons involved in the 2008 passport office break-in (or at least the same entities) might be involved in the dissemination of the video Innocence of Muslims immediately following the 2012 attacks in Benghazi. Or, it would appear that way.

The Left is Circling the Wagons against Dr. Ben Carson

Posted February 23, 2013

The Progressive hit media are frantically circling the wagons, probably formulating a potent Alinsky Rule # 5 offense against sage Ben Carson.  It appears the leftists were blindsided by the transparency and unassuming integrity of this gifted brain surgeon.  No doubt they are embarrassed by their previous sycophantic accolades heralding his exceptional accomplishments in his chosen field of pediatric neurosurgery.  A case in point may be the acclaim lauded upon Dr. Carson by feminist Christine Gorman in her 2001 piece in Time Magazine, Super Surgeon. How could she have known the subject of her acclaim would challenge the fundamental tenets of her liberalism a dozen years later?

Yet, here he comes daring to defy the unspoken apolitical taboos as keynote speaker at the National Prayer Breakfast in the very hallowed presence of The One We Have Been Wait For by unabashedly exposing the myths of politically correct liberalism with incisive allegories drawn from Scripture and his own intriguing life story. How dare he!

Sen. Coburn to WH: Please Cancel Your 100 City Tour Promoting Government Spending

Posted February 23, 2013

Yesterday, Senator Tom Coburn R-OK, sent a letter to the White House Office of Management and Budget asking them to cancel their “federal largess” tour.  Coburn writes:

Much is being made about the possible impact of sequestration on government programs for the poor and middle class, food safety, and the defense of our nation.  It is somewhat surprising, therefore, for the White House to be headlining a 100 city government spending tour, transporting representatives from multiple departments and various agencies around the country to promote federal largess.  If Washington is truly cutting spending on missions many consider vital, how can we at the same time promise and promote more financial assistance, much less afford this mammoth 100 city cross country tour?

Insurer with NY's 'worst' record of complaints gets $340M Obamacare loan

Posted February 23, 2013

A health insurance company headed by an old friend from when President Obama was an Illinois state senator got a $340 million federal loan to establish Obamacare co-ops in New York, New Jersey and Oregon despite having a chronic record of consumer and regulatory complaints.
The New York-based Freelancers Insurance Company has been rated the "worst" insurer for two straight years by state regulators, and data compiled by a national insurance association show an extremely high rate of consumer complaints.

McCain, Obama to meet on immigration Tuesday

Posted February 23, 2013

MEXICO CITY (AP) — U.S. Sen. John McCain said Friday that he and other lawmakers working on an immigration overhaul will meet with President Barack Obama on Tuesday to discuss the effort to revamp the system.

McCain, a member of a bipartisan group of eight senators working on a bill, said there is still significant disagreement with the president, but he is optimistic about producing legislation that includes a path to legalization for illegal immigrants.

The White House could not immediately confirm the Tuesday meeting.

"The president of the United States has supported our efforts. In fact we will be meeting with the president on Tuesday," McCain said during a visit to Mexico.

Star Parker: Blacks Who Back Gun Control Need to Study History of Slavery and Jim Crow

Posted February 23, 2013

(CNSNews.com) – At a Friday event billed as a Black History Month press conference, Star Parker said African Americans in Congress who support gun control efforts by President Barack Obama and his administration should consider the history of blacks in this country and people around the globe who were oppressed, including being banned from owning firearms.

Black Leaders: ‘Direct Correlation Between Gun Control and Black People Control’

Posted February 23, 2013

(CNSNews.com) – Gun control dates back to laws before and after the Civil War that prohibited or restricted African Americans from owning firearms, a group of black leaders said Friday at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
“History is [rife] with examples. There’s a direct correlation between gun control and black people control,” Stacy Swimp, president and CFO of the Frederick Douglass Society, said at the event.

GOP House panel chairman will consider gun bills

Posted February 23, 2013

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee said Friday that he's interested in writing legislation this year improving background checks for gun buyers and cracking down on illegal firearms sales.

In an interview, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., provided little detail about his plans. But he said the federal background check system should be fixed to make sure more people with serious mental illnesses don't get firearms.

Monopoly Man Broke

"We're Not Broke"

Posted February 22, 2013
by Terrell AronSpeer

"We're Not Broke."  The words washed over me like a wave of relief. These words had to be believed because they came from the Oracle of Iowa, Senator Tom Harkin. Tom Harkinonomics  Of course he has never created any wealth, but he is an expert at spending it. He actually says, "We, as a nation, are not broke." This is a meaningful distinction. We will get to that in a moment. In this context he also says, "We are now the richest nation in the world." He then says, we do not have a spending problem; to quote he says, "Do we have a spending problem? No." He continues, "We have a misallocation of wealth." Although this sounds like the usual mindless blather we have come to expect from the left, it is much, much more and every conservative needs to understand what has been revealed in these statements. This could be one of the most meaningful pieces I write about the left and so I pray for guidance. Their core will be revealed and you will come to understand the left in a way which will allow you to deal with them effectively. You may even get an answer to the nagging question, "What’s wrong with them?"  Please proceed.

Let Texans Help Decide the next Presidential Primary Winners

Posted February 23, 2013

Recently, Sen. Dan Patrick filed Senate Bill 452 (see press release) to move the Texas Primary to the 1st Tuesday of February.  "For far too long the race for President has been all but decided by the time Texans get a chance to cast their ballot," said Patrick. "SB 452 will ensure that Texas will now be a leading voice in determining who will lead our country."

So far, Austin has not heard from voters regarding this important bill; therefore, they do not think this issue matters. This could not be further from the truth.  We need your help to get this bill passed by contacting your State Senator and State Representative, no matter their party, and urge them to support moving the Texas Primary - SB 452

Ted Cruz a Lifeline for the Conservative Party?

Posted February 22, 2013

HOUSTON -- Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is one of the few Republicans these days described as a potential "rock star" for the party. As a freshman, he is already starting to shake things up in Washington.

So, what makes this Lone Star lawmaker tick?

Ten shocking lessons a huge Texas conglomerate has foisted on public school students

Posted February 22, 2013

CSCOPE is the acronym-sounding name — that is not actually an acronym — for the oft-criticized, all-embracing K-12 educational curriculum that is used in 80 percent of the school districts in .

“CSCOPE’s high quality curriculum, assessment, and instructional components assist schools in meeting the high standard of rigor and relevance” ostensibly required by various assessments administered by the Lone Star State, touts the nonprofit entity’s website.

Most — though not all — of the critics of CSCOPE are politically conservative. They charge that the controversial curriculum is a radical, backdoor way for progressives to circumvent both the Texas legislative process and the desires of local school boards and communities. They also charge that the creators of the curriculum operate secretly and do not make it easy for parents or even school board members to see the material.

Heidi Thiess Second Amendment Rights

Heidi Thiess on Why A Local Resolution to Preserve Second Amendment Rights

Posted February 22, 2013

I’ve been asked, “Why bother filing a resolution to preserve the Second Amendment at the local level?” My reply is that local municipalities and counties are having to handle the issue on a daily basis while our state and federal officials dither and haggle. And we shouldn’t shrink from doing so.

The free exercise of the Second Amendment is an inalienable right and fundamental to our way of life. There is no elected official at any level of government who should avoid  taking a stand on this issue. Anything less than the strongest possible statement to affirm our Constitution is an abdication of their oath of office. The oath of office we public representatives have sworn is very clear about our duty to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution.
