Gun Companies Refuse Sales to State Governments with Strict Gun Laws

Posted February 16, 2013

Six gun companies have announced plans to stop selling any of their products to any government agency in states that severely limit the rights of private gun ownership.

Disappointed with New York State lawmakers and other jurisdictions around the country who have passed strict gun control legislation, the companies—composed of firearm manufacturers, gunsmiths, and sporting goods retailers—have announced these policies in the past week.

Their various statements emphasize that such laws create a class of government employees with rights and and a class of citizens without rights. Thus, they refuse to aid the enforcement of such inequality.

The announcements read:

Effective today, in an effort to see that no legal mistakes are made by LaRue Tactical and/or its employees, we will apply all current State and Local Laws (as applied to civilians) to state and local law enforcement / government agencies. In other words, LaRue Tactical will limit all sales to what law-abiding citizens residing in their districts can purchase or possess.

Jeb Bush: I Would Govern Like Lyndon Johnson as President

Posted February 16, 2013

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said he would strive to be like Lyndon Johnson, the Democrat famous for expanding the U.S. welfare state through the "Great Society," if he were elected president.

According to the Miami Herald, Bush made those comments Wednesday night in San Antonio, Florida at Saint Leo University, while speaking about education, immigration, and energy policy.

Bush did not address Johnson's Great Society and War on Poverty programs, about which Ronald Reagan once famously quipped, "We had a war on poverty, and poverty won."

Instead, he was referencing Johnson's mastery of the so-called sausage-making process in Congress.

He vowed to approach the presidency as "master of the Senate," as biographer Robert Caro described Johnson.

“He went and he cajoled, he begged, he threatened, he loved, he hugged, he did what leaders do, which is they personally get engaged to make something happen,’’ Bush said of Johnson. Bush cited Caro's latest book about Johnson, The Passage of Power, which covers the first part of Johnson's presidency.

Missouri Dems Introduce Alarming Gun Confiscation Bill Giving Law-Abiding Gun Owners 90 Days to Turn in Certain Firearms or Become Felons

Posted February 16, 2013

Democrats in Missouri introduced startling anti-gun legislation that would require gun owners to hand over their legally purchased so-called “assault weapons”  to “the appropriate law enforcement agency for destruction” within 90 days.

Under the proposed bill, “Any person who, prior to the effective date of this law, was legally in possession of an assault weapon or large capacity magazine shall have ninety days from such effective date to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution.”

What to do When the Ammos Gone: Dry Fire Drills

Posted February 16, 2013

Even though I sit just a few feet away from a warehouse of ammo, I’m a little worried about current and future price and availability. I am stingier than ever with my current ammo storage. We all seem to be going to the range a little less and hoarding a little more. However, the ammo shortage in no way means your guns need to be gathering dust. Shooting is a learned skill, and like any discipline, you will lose your ability to perform well if you don’t practice.

PersonalDefenseTraining.com says your shooting skills can weaken by 20 percent in just one week without practice. If you don’t already practice at home with an unloaded gun, now is the time to start.

Dry fire is performing the same actions as you would at the range without live ammunition in your gun. Dry firing perfects your technique, helps you memorize muscle movement and can increase your speed and accuracy. Besides that, dry fire practice is free.

White House Endorses Senate Plan to Offset Sequester with More Taxes

Posted February 16, 2013

The White House has endorsed a plan Senate Democrats proposed to offset the sequester with more tax revenues, insisting House Republicans adopt it as well.

On Thursday, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said President Barack Obama just wants "more stimulus spending that we know doesen't create jobs."
"If the president wants more tax hikes that destroy jobs, then his Democrat allies in the Senate ought to take it up," Boehner said.

Texas preps for going it alone

Posted February 16, 2013

Proposal considers collapse of U.S. and how Lone Star state would survive

Texas was its own nation before joining the United States, and many jokes have been made about some Texans still not recognizing that “other government” with which it now is affiliated.

But lawmakers there are drawing attention by considering a law that would have Texas review how it would respond should the U.S. government no longer be there to send federal tax revenue back to the state.

The proposal would set up a committee to study what the state gets from Washington, “the effects on the state budget if federal fiscal policy necessitates a significant reduction in or elimination of federal funding” and “a plan to address the loss of federal money.”

The plan, HB 568, has been introduced by Rep. James White, who said in a statement Texas Self-Sufficiency Act “creates a select committee to evaluate the effects of a possible reduction in or elimination of federal funding on the state budget due to federal fiscal policy.”

“Due to the fiscal dysfunction of Washington, D.C., and the fact that more than a third of our state’s budget revenue comes from the federal government, Texas needs to study what it would mean if the federal government couldn’t meet its obligations,” he said.

Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm Flees Illinois

Posted February 16, 2013

Insurance chain State Farm is reportedly buying up substantial workspace in Texas, which may signal a coming exodus from the company's home state of Illinois.

State Farm is keeping the move quiet so as not to alarm employees. But the Dallas Morning News reports that it is a “major business relocation” already underway and that this is “one of the biggest stories in the Dallas-area real estate market and will ultimately involve thousands of workers.”
Texas-based real estate expert Bob Gibbons notes in a blog post that State Farm’s Dallas office space lease--about 2.5 million square feet of workspace in a few different places--is the Dallas area’s largest-ever office space lease by a single company.

CSCOPE: A Lesson in Indoctrination

Posted February 16, 2013
Public school parents need to know how indoctrination occurs in their students’ CSCOPE materials. Over 70% of Texas public schools use CSCOPE. Because of the lack of transparency of these digitized materials, CSCOPE has taught a biased form of education for years without being caught. Nobody could see the students’ materials. (Please go to this link to learn more about CSCOPE, EducationViews.org)

After students experience years of this type of CSCOPE indoctrination, is it any wonder that Obama was re-elected by students – future voters — who have been taught to believe in the social justice agenda (e.g., an emphasis on subjectivity, feelings, emotions, beliefs, multiculturalism, political correctness, social engineering, globalism, evolution, sexual freedom/contraceptives instead of abstinence, environmental extremism, global warming, victimization, diversity, an acceptance of the normalcy of the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender lifestyle, redistribution of wealth, a de-emphasis on — factual knowledge, the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Founding Fathers, and American exceptionalism)?
