Rand Paul Gives The Tea Party Response To The President's State of the Union Address

Mark Levin BLASTS both Democrats and gutless Republicans for the destruction of this country

Posted February 13, 2013

Mark Levin was furious tonight over the destruction of this country by Democrats like Obama, Pelosi, and Reid and gutless Republicans who are not only complicit, but even now are still afraid to speak out about it:

You should view these politicians with the deepest contempt you can possibly imagine. What they are doing to this country, what they are doing to our finances – there is not a criminal in any federal prison, state prison, city or county jail, with respect to financial crimes of any sort who collectively could have done the kind of damage that Barack Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and YES, willing, timid, gutless Republicans have done to this country! To your future, to your children and your grandchildren! What they are doing is with malice and with forethought….

Major networks refuse to cover Rand Paul’s tea party response

Posted February 13, 2013

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul delivered the tea party response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address on Tuesday night — but even if you were watching any of the major television networks, you wouldn't have been able to see it.

Unlike President Barack Obama's State of the Union address and the official Republican response from Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Paul's speech was watchable only through online streaming.

"I speak to you tonight from Washington, D.C.," Paul said at the beginning of the address. "The state of our economy is tenuous, but our people remain the greatest example of freedom and prosperity the world has ever known."

The Status of the Tea Party — Stateside and Worldwide (!)

Posted February 13, 2013

The Tea Party Movement is not a political party in America. It could be if it chooses to do so. It’s unclear if that will happen anytime soon — only time will tell. It is not a centralized organization, but where does it say that it should be?

Naturally, the Tea Party is active in all 50 states. But it also has gone global. That’s right, Tea Parties had sprung up in other countries. The list of such countries is as follows: Canada, Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Israel, Nepal, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Colombia, and Argentina. There is even a Worldwide Tea Party Movement. All of them have either a website and/or a Facebook page. It should also be noted that Australia and Italy have the most active Tea Parties, while the New Zealand Tea Party has actually become a political party.

Why do these other countries have Tea Parties? Because the people in those countries have gotten tired of big government. Keep in mind their freedoms are more restricted than America’s, and socialism has been implemented in their societies more than it has been here. Another reason that Tea Parties have emerged in other countries is because the people of those countries have been inspired by the Tea Party Movement here in America.

There are countries that don’t have Tea Parties, but should. They include Honduras, Costa Rica, Ireland, France, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Greece, South Africa, and India.
Thus, the world continues to look to America for guidance and leadership, only this time they look to its citizens and not its government.

Rubio delivers GOP response: Government is not the solution, economic growth is [Video]

Posted February 13, 2013

Florida Senator Marco Rubio delivered the Republican response — in both English and Spanish — to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address, championing economic growth and offering a limited government contrast to the president’s vision.

Considered to be a rising star in the GOP and already under the microscope as a potential 2016 presidential candidate, Rubio commenced speaking on opportunity and the promise of America.

Inside the Tea Party Patriots’ plan to launch a super PAC

Posted February 12, 2013

Tea Party Patriots is getting its own super PAC.

Since bursting onto the political scene in 2009, the national grassroots coalition has organized rallies against President Barack Obama's health care law, promoted tea party issues and helped local tea party groups. But it has never meddled in specific races.

But that's changing now, as Tea Party Patriots looks to stay relevant and make its mark on the elections in 2014 and 2016. The coordinators of the organization voted at the end of last year to establish a federal super PAC, the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund.

"I think this is a natural evolution for our organization," Jenny Beth Martin, one of the founders of the organization, said in a phone interview with The Daily Caller on Monday.

Why do civilians need assault weapons?

Posted February 12, 2013

The two strongest reasons for civilians to own assault weapons are self-defense and defense against tyranny.

One self-defense situation that comes to mind is the L.A. riots.  Who can forget the nightly news's live footage of thugs hurling rocks at passing cars, buildings on fire, and looters smashing storefront windows?  Then there was the savage beating of truck driver Reginald Denny.

What was stunningly absent from the video footage?  There were no police or fire personnel.

Ted Nugent: Obama has ‘defied everything he said’ in first State of the Union [VIDEO]

Posted February 13, 2013

In a video interview with The Daily Caller, musician Ted Nugent said President Barack Obama has "defied everything he said" in his first State Of The Union address.

Despite his strong support for the Second Amendment, Nugent told TheDC that the president's "anti-budget" economic policies have him concerned the most.

"I believe that what we saw in the president's first State of the Union sounded so good. He delivered it with such peonage, such specific believability, and then defied everything he said. He defied in action and policy making everything he said, except for, 'My policies will naturally cause the cost of energy to skyrocket.' That was an accurate prediction," Nugent, Republican Rep. Steve Stockman's guest for the State of the Union, said Tuesday on Capitol Hill.

Sierra Club takes aim at coal plants in East Texas

Posted February 13, 2013

Fairfield, TX (Texas Tribune) — Staring across a lake at the oldest coal-fired power plant in Texas, Mayor Roy Hill thinks back to the early 1970s, when his father helped bring the plant to the area.

“Quite honestly, this plant saved Fairfield,” Hill said. Should it close, he said, the economic impact would be “catastrophic.”

But closing Big Brown, as it is known, and two other 1970s-era coal plants in East Texas has emerged as a top goal of the Sierra Club. The group is escalating a campaign against the plants’ corporate owner, Dallas-based Energy Future Holdings, whose subsidiaries include the state’s largest power-generation company. Coal combustion produces mercury and other pollutants, and environmentalists say that the old plants are especially harmful to the climate and Texans’ health.

“We can’t fix the climate problem in the United States unless we fix what’s happening” at EFH, said Al Armendariz, who is leading the Sierra Club’s anti-coal push in Texas. The company, the club says, operates some of the nation’s dirtiest coal plants.

Editor's Note: If the Sierra Club takes out the coal plants in east Texas, that will put Texas on the "national" grid. Do you think that is in the best interest of Texas?

Rep. Stockman on Nugent invite: Obama ‘invited a rapper who called for the death’ of police [VIDEO]

Posted February 13, 2013

In a video interview with The Daily Caller, Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman called Ted Nugent a “great Texan and patriotic citizen,” adding that it is “sad” that his decision to invite Nugent to the State of the Union address has caused controversy.

Stockman questioned why it was “not a controversy” when President Barack Obama brought rapper Common to the White House in May 2011. (RELATED: White House invites profane rapper for poetry reading)

“The president of the United States invited a rapper who called for the death of President Bush, called for the death of police, and it’s not a controversy. I invite someone who believes in the Second amendment, who’s a family guy, who’s really quite honestly a great Texan and patriotic citizen. You know, for some reason, it’s a controversy to invite him here,” Stockman told TheDC Tuesday on Capitol Hill.

REPRESENTATIVE CAPRIGLIONE FIGHTS FOR TRANSPARENCY IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS

Posted February 12, 2013

(Austin, TX) Giovanni Capriglione continues to make his mark on the legislature, filing HB 974, a bill adding the online posting of a check registrar as an indicator for the School FIRST Rating Worksheet of the Texas Education Agency.

“The FIRST program is designed to grade school districts on their financial integrity.

Showing the taxpayers how districts are spending their money by making their check registers available online should absolutely be one of the criteria used by the TEA,"  commented Representative Capriglione.

The School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, or School FIRST, a financial accountability system for Texas school districts, was developed by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) in response to legislation passed in 1999.

“Transparency should be encouraged at every level of government. It is imperative that we take advantage of the 83rd session to promote transparency and accountability through the promotion of legislation like HB 974,” the representative concluded.

Giovanni has been married for 12 years to his wife Elisa and has three children. More information regarding Giovanni can be found at http://www.votegiovanni.com/.
