New TABC Rule will affect Gun Shows

Public Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday August 19th at 1:30 PM in Austin, Texas.

Many of us Texans have long enjoyed the ability to visit and conduct business at local gun shows. Today this tradition is at risk.

This week I learned that the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) is planning to amend rule 36.1 in a way that will seriously affect Texas Gun Shows. If the rule is adopted as written, gun shows will no longer be able to sell ammunition, display any guns that are not disabled and non-functional, and deliver purchased guns on the premises of the venue.  In effect, no right minded vendor would bother to participate.

This new rule would affect any venue that is licensed by the TABC to sell alcoholic beverages and would be in effect even if NO alcoholic beverages are permitted to be sold during the gun show.

I have spoken with representatives of TABC. The rule will be published in the August 8, 2014 issue of the Texas Register. This will open a 30 day period of public comment.

There will be an opportunity for oral comments at a Public Hearing to be conducted by the staff of the Commission on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Public Hearing will be held at the first-floor Commission Room in the Commission’s headquarters, which is located at 5806 Mesa Drive in Austin.

I strongly encourage all patriots and supporters of the 2nd Amendment to make your feelings known. Remember the immortal words of Thomas Jefferson, “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance”. It seems these days that has never been more true!

Chairman, Williamson County Firearm Enthusiasts Club

At the Crossroads - Energy and Climate Policy Summit

September 25-26, 2014

Hyatt Regency Houston

Texas Public Policy Foundation Energy & Climate Policy Summit

The Texas Public Policy Foundation has set aside 100 complimentary tickets for members of the Tea Party to attend a very important, two-day summit on energy and climate policy. With the Tea Party being some of the most involved activists this country has ever seen, it is essential that your members learn, first hand, of the truth behind politicized science, climate hysteria, and the moral case for fossil fuels.
Click the link below to secure one or more of the Tea Party’s 100 complimentary tickets!

We want to make sure your organization has one of the first opportunities to register. Also, I ask that you to please forward this far and wide so others – especially those in the energy industry – see that Texas isn’t going to stand by while Washington dictates energy policy for all, with the stroke of a pen. Texans know that this policy is bad for families, businesses, our state, and our country. We will not stand idly by while bureaucrats, thousands of miles away conspire to deprive the globe from clean, cheap, and plentiful fossil fuels.
Join us in Houston this September 25th and 26th as we discuss these important issues and hear from the world’s preeminent thought leaders on the moral case for fossil fuels. If you need a hotel, there is a discounted block of rooms at the Hyatt Regency Houston and you can reserve one online by visiting this link. Finally, to learn more about the summit, I invite you to check out the agenda

AFP's National Day of Action

RSVP to phone bank with other activists on Saturday, September 6th!

President Obama and his allies in Congress are trying to force more costly, unnecessary EPA regulations on American families. These regulations will lead to: higher energy bills, stifle economic growth, and destroy hundreds of thousands of US jobs. Many Americans are already struggling to make ends meet, and the President's big-government policies are only going to make things worse.
