Pete Sessions Supports Amnesty

SHOCKING VIDEOS: Pete Sessions Supports Amnesty to 'Accommodate' Illegal Aliens for 'Right Reasons'

A series of videos from several town halls in 2013 have surfaced showing that Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) supports amnesty for illegal aliens, despite claims from his re-election campaign that he is against allowing illegal aliens stay in America.

In the videos, Sessions frames his support for amnesty as granting legal status to illegal aliens who are not violent criminals—but somehow not citizenship, even though anyone who obtains a green card is allowed to eventually apply for citizenship. Sessions described such an amnesty as aiming to "accommodate" illegal aliens, "millions of people who are here for the right reasons." He also said that he thinks "the vast majority of people who are here" as long as they are "here truly for the right reason," should and "would be welcomed." "I believe that my colleagues in the House have on a sheet of paper designed a system that would accommodate millions of people who are here for the right reasons, millions of people who today may be illegal—illegally here—but who would be handled fairly under a process," Sessions is seen saying on one video from 2013.

5 Year Anniversary Letter from Sen. Ted Cruz

Dear Tea Party Members,

Senator Ted Cruz Letter to Tea PartyToday, I am reminded of what Mark Twain once said when a newspaper misreported that he had passed away: "The report of my death was an exaggeration." Indeed, reports of the demise of the Tea Party have been greatly exaggerated.

It has been five years since the Tea Party burst upon the political scene, and it remains alive and kicking much to the chagrin of the Washington establishment.

The Tea Party remains a dominant and necessary force in American politics because it demands some much-needed restraint from our federal government. Created out of unrest over government bailouts, an out-of-control debt, and the prospect of a government takeover of our healthcare system, members of the Tea Party continue to fight for liberty at every opportunity.

Whether it comes to demanding accountability for the IRS's illegal targeting program, an out-of-control government spying program, the government's use of drones, or the deaths of our countrymen in Benghazi, the Tea Party stands at the ready to protect their fellow citizens.

You are performing a great service for your country by reminding elected officials that they work for Americans; Americans are not subject to them.

The Tea Party is a modern force for good, yet the values it upholds have always been embedded deeply in the American spirit.

It was this same revolutionary resolve that spurred the colonists to stand against "taxation without representation," that resulted in the adoption of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and that has inspired millions to continue defending our freedoms ever since.

Thank you for your tireless efforts to keep the American Dream alive.

Keep doing all you can to make DC listen. It's an honor to work with you to do it.

With gratitude,
Ted Cruz

Al Qaeda Is Not THE Enemy

Upon reading this title, anyone familiar with me or my writing will assume that they are witnessing the day AronSpeer finally went 'round the bend.' But I ask you to reread the title, emphasizing the only uncapitalized word; Al Qaeda is not the enemy. This is a radically different statement.

Recently, we have seen the New York Times print an article which is a statement of complete faith in the ignorance of their readership. Basically, the article just restated the original Obama administration lie regarding an unseen video and nonexistent street demonstrations being involved in the attack on our Benghazi diplomatic post over a year ago. This is the attack in which four Americans were killed including a US ambassador.

The Times article contradicts not only all the evidence, but the later statements of their favorite administration and subsequent articles printed in the NY Times itself. Their claims that neither Al Qaeda nor any of its affiliates were involved in this attack are met with counter claims from conservatives in an attempt to prove a link to Al Qaeda. This is a colossal waste of our time and energy. It all stems from a failure to properly identify the enemy after the 9-11 attack on the World Trade Center in New York City.

In order to minimize the threat, lull the American public into a false sense of security and to placate a small, but highly influential constituency, a small band of Islamist miscreants (Al Qaeda) were named as the sole perpetrators of this act. The impression created is that all we need do is to defeat Al Qaeda and all our troubles will be over. Yet almost no one hearing this lie, nor the prevaricators themselves, believes this to be true. Across the political sandscape all one can see are a multitude of ostrich butts.

The Case for Inequality

Economic InequalityAccording to the professional hand wringers on the left, America has a crisis of inequality. It's a big deal. Some people have more stuff than others. This drives the left crazy. Truly they are so close they need not be driven; they could walk from here. Never mind that some of us are taller, fatter, funnier, happier, more erudite, whimsical and talented than others. Apparently it is the stuff that matters. The left appears to be more OCD than Felix Unger when it comes to income inequality.

As difficult as it may be for the left to comprehend, not everyone wants all that stuff. More stuff is more to take care of, more to store, and maybe more trouble than it is worth. Not everyone wants to be rich. As they never tire of telling us, with great wealth comes great responsibility. From my observation, not everyone embraces responsibility, especially those on the left.

Electronic Voting Machines

The 21st Century Comes to Wood County, Texas

The twenty-first century comes to Wood County – at least that is how it is being sold. The old paper ballot is giving way to electronic voting. This article is not some nostalgic piece about how the lumber jack is becoming an endangered species, nor is it a salute to the tree huggers out there. I intend to give the very real financial reasons why such a move makes sense and how the dangers of using electronic voting, as currently configured, are very real and should worry anyone dedicated to free and fair elections. The impatient may wish to skip to the subtitle "The Big Concern" far below.

Tea Party Toolbox

There is some immediate gratification which comes from telling a verbal bomb thrower that they are nothing more than "scum sucking, name calling bottom feeders." As accurate as the statement may be, it is tragically illustrative of the very behavior that prompted you to make the statement. However, consulting Paul Graham's chart, "The Hierarchy of Disagreement" (pictured at the link below), you can point out that the name calling they engage in is precisely at the bottom of the chart, the lowest form of argument, which supports your claim that they are indeed scum sucking bottom feeders. You have immediately elevated your own argument to the "Counterargument" position on the chart, the third from the highest form of argument.

Jeff Sessions: Tea Party Is 'Right on Every Issue'

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) said the Tea Party movement is essential to moving the country back in the right direction during his keynote address to the Tea Party Patriots fifth anniversary conference at a dinner at the Capitol Hill Hyatt Regency Thursday.

"The movement you have spawned and participated in is right on every major issue," Sessions, a conservative first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1996, said.

Levin Calls on Tea Party to Fight Tyranny in USA

Keynoting an event honoring the five-year anniversary of the Tea Party on Thursday, conservative scholar and talk radio host Mark Levin said that the Tea Party movement is the only thing standing between what is left of the country's republic and the tyranny of runaway government.

Levin said the government that is supposed to serve the people is "devouring" us, while the Constitution's firewalls are being breached by a lawless president, a feckless Congress, and an all-powerful Supreme Court.
