TEA Party Wins Big In Texas!!!!!!!
TEA Party candidates in Texas rock the establishment! Ted Cruz wins over establishment backed David Dewhurst for the Republican nomination to replace Kay Bailey Hutchison. Dr. Donna Campbell wins the nomination over 7 term incumbent Texas State Senator Jeff Wentworth by a 2 to 1 margin. Jessica Puente Bradshaw wins over Adela Garza and the list goes on.
Moderate Texas House Speaker, Joe Straus, lost two more allies with Sid Miller and Chuck Hopson losing to J.D. Sheffield and Travis Clardy. Unfortunately, TEA Party backed Jim Landtroop lost his re-election bid to Ken King. Empower Texans’ Michael Quinn Sullivan said of the race, “The night produced only one somber note: State Rep. Jim Landtroop lost to Ken King. Just like conservative State Rep. Wayne Christian’s loss in May, the Straus team beat Mr. Landtroop only by giving him an 80% new district, out-spending him, and lying about his record. (That’s apparently the only way the Straus team can beat conservatives.)”
Additional significant wins in yesterday’s runoff elections were Greg Bonnen over Ryan Sitton, Jeff Leach over Jon Cole, Drew Springer over Trent McKnight, and Stephanie Klick over Den Sapp.
The biggest winners of yesterday were Ted Cruz, Donna Campbell, and grassroots conservatives in Texas and across the country.
Jack Hoogendyk for US Congress - Michigan
Coming off huge wins in Texas, we turn our attention to Michigan. Jack Hoogendyk is looking to unseat incumbent Congressman Fred Upton and we want to help. Upton was one of the few Republicans to support the Brady bill and Upton also was a co-sponsor of the 2007 energy bill making light bulbs illegal. Hoogendyk, on the other hand, is a Constitutional conservative and advocate for smaller government and personal liberty.
The Citizens for Traditional Values PAC has endorsed Hoogendyk saying, “We commend Jack for his ongoing public service both locally and statewide. He has consistently demonstrated personal integrity. And Jack’s tenacity for the preservation of life, the defense of our individual freedoms and the importance of faith and family to society is refreshing. We need more leaders like Jack who understand the vital need for financial and government restraint to serve in Congress! He will make an excellent voice for our values in Washington DC.”
Hoogendyk also has widespread conservative support from groups like the Madison Project, RedState, iCaucus, Gun Owners of America, and TEAParty911.com’s founder, Michael Kinzie, has also endorsed Hoogendyk in his bid to replace Upton.
We would love to see Jack add his name to the list of grassroots victories over the establishment that have been racking up across the country in states like Wisconsin, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, but we need your help. With the election date of August 7th almost upon us, we need grassroots volunteers to help with phone banking for Jack. Details below…

So we're joining Mike Huckabee in promoting Chick-Fil-A by offering $25 Chick-Fil-A gift cards to anyone who will make 100 calls for us. Now are you interested?
If you make 100 calls for Jack, through our system by August 1, you can join us in observing Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day, an event set up by Mike Huckabee. We'll be at the Chick-Fil-A in South Bend - meet us there to get your $25 gift card!

Oregon Man Sentenced to 30 Days in Jail --
for Collecting Rainwater on His Property
~ CNSNews.com
A rural Oregon man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days in jail and over $1,500 in fines because he had three reservoirs on his property to collect and use rainwater.
Gary Harrington of Eagle Point, Ore., says he plans to appeal his conviction in Jackson County (Ore.) Circuit Court on nine misdemeanor charges under a 1925 law for having what state water managers called “three illegal reservoirs” on his property – and for filling the reservoirs with rainwater and snow runoff.
“The government is bullying,” Harrington told CNSNews.com in an interview Thursday.
“They’ve just gotten to be big bullies and if you just lay over and die and give up, that just makes them bigger bullies. So, we as Americans, we need to stand on our constitutional rights, on our rights as citizens and hang tough. This is a good country, we’ll prevail,” he said.
The court has given Harrington two weeks to report to the Jackson County Jail to begin serving his sentence.
