Bullard, TX—Republican candidate Tammy Blair received an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) PAC. The rating, the highest possible for nonincumbents, is based on Blair’s strong support of gun owner and 2nd amendment rights.

“As an NRA member, avid gun owner, and proud defender of the 2nd amendment, I am honored to receive an “A” rating from the NRA and Texas State Rifle Association PAC,” said Blair. “In the Senate, District 3 residents can count on me to defend our 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms, protect our right to personal self-defense, and support measures that protect our hunting rights in Texas.”

In addition to defending 2nd amendment rights and gun owner protections, Blair said her platform also includes balancing the state budget without budgetary gimmicks or raising taxes, limited government, pro-life and profamily values, local control of public schools, less government regulation, keeping taxes low, states’ rights, rural small town protections, property owner rights, protecting our water resources, and securing the border. She also opposes Obamacare, lawsuit abuse and a state income tax.

A lifelong conservative Republican, Blair graduated from has a Master’s degree from the University of Texas Tech at Tyler.  She has been married 22 years to her husband Jim and has three children (ages 16, 18 and 20).  Blair recently won the Saddle Up Texas Straw Poll and was voted one of the Texas Top Ten Conservative Challengers by CTxPAC.  She has been a Tea Party organizer since early in 2009.
