Texas Voter's Guides

No Love for Obama

Barack Obama launched his campaign in unspectacular fashion today at Ohio State University, the largest college in the crucial swing state. A photo posted to twitter by Mitt Romney's campaign spokesman Ryan Williams reveals that the event was poorly attended. The above image, according to Williams, was taken during the President's first official campaign speech.

During the speech, Obama ripped into the presumptive GOP nominee and discussed nation building at home, but the most newsworthy item of the day was not the talking points Obama delivered: it was the crowd… or lack thereof. According to ABC News, the Obama campaign had expected an "overflow" of people. Instead, the arena was half-empty. The Columbus Dispatch reports that Obama organizers even had people move from the seats to the floor of the gym in order to project a larger crowd on television.

From Rep. Wayne Christian

Friends,

Austin keeps finding its way out to East Texas. A PAC was just formed out of district, down in Austin, for the sole purpose of coming after me in this election. The PAC was named innocently enough--" Texans for Responsible Government." Why would Texans who wanted responsible government oppose me? I have a reputation for ensuring our government is responsible to the people, and holding everyone in government accountable, especially on issues of taxation and property rights.

After looking over this new PAC's information, I quickly realized that it was nothing more than a front group for a special interest lobby group down in Austin. This particular lobby group has already funneled tens of thousands of dollars to my opponent, but it would seem that they aren't content with outright and honest opposition to my candidacy. They are also interested in hiding behind a PAC with a politically deceptive name to try to fool East Texas voters into thinking they're someone they are not.

Now, you may be saying..."Wait Wayne, how do you know its this lobby group out of Austin?" Well, the PAC's listed treasurer is the current Chairman of the Board for this special interest lobby group. And if that weren't enough, the PAC's listed address is the exact same as the lobby group's Austin office. I don't believe they're even trying to hide it from me, but with a name like "Texans for Responsible Government" they're obviously trying to hide it from you.

If these lobbyists down in Austin are looking after East Texans' interests, then why are they hiding who they are? Why don't they attack me and put their name on it, plain and clear, so the fine people of East Texas can judge them on the merits of their attacks (or lack thereof)? I think the answer is self-evident, folks.

So, be aware...My opponent's friends in the Austin lobby, who have already given him tens of thousands of dollars before he's even cast a single vote, are now creating a front group to attack me. Watch out for anything from the "Texans for Responsible Government," and tell your friends who they really represent. I've run many tough races, against great and honorable opponents, but I've unfortunately seen it all. This latest round of dirty politics will not deter me, or change the kind of campaign I am running: one based on issues and my proven conservative record. I ask you to send them a message on May 29th: y'all keep the dirt in Austin and we'll keep the water here in East Texas!

Once again, I ask my opponent to contact those who are supporting him and tell them that we do things differently in East Texas.

Crunch Time in Texas

Matt Beebe and Family

Okay Texans, it's crunch time. Early voting begins tomorrow and we need to be doing EVERYTHING we can to get the right candidates nominated in their primary races. We need to be hitting the streets, picking up the phones, sending out the emails and everything else to get conservative voters out to the polls. The "experts" are predicting low turnout at the polls, but I never have put much stock in the so-called experts. Remember that the "experts" said that Dick Luger could not be beaten? It's your turn Texas!

TEA Party Backed Candidates

The following list is recommendations for candidates across Texas by various TEA Party and conservative groups. Some recommendations are considered endorsements, others are "suggestions".

Florida HOA Takes Over Home

A woman in Florida is in shock after learning that her tenant was evicted, the locks were changed and a new tenant was moved into the home she owns. And this was all done by neighborhood's HOA. Is this another case of a local homeowners group overreaching its authority?

Joanne McCarn's home in Wesley Chapel, FL, is not foreclosed. She owns it and had rented it to a single mother of five children. According to the Tampa Tribune, though, the homeowners association has been walking a "tricky legal path" that led it to evict the tenant after the mother would not pay her rent to the HOA instead of McCarn. The association then moved in their own tenant and has been collecting the rent itself.

"This is not a foreclosed house," McCarn said. "This is still my house."

The Tribune reports it all started when the Bridgewater Community Association imposed a lien on McCarn in 2009, which she had not paid. McCarn said she did miss one HOA payment of $225 after her mother died, which she is willing to pay, but the lien is for more than $2,000. The Tribune states the lien amount includes "special assessments" and other fees that include legal costs and a $500 rental fee. McCarn states she and her husband tried to remedy the situation with the HOA President Mark Spector but were thrown off his property.

The original renter was later given 24 hours to leave the property. McCarn was then informed by a neighbor when a U-Haul pulled up and a new renter moved in. Watch the local news report for more, including background on other issues homeowners have had with this specific HOA before: Get the facts

State Senator Robert Nichols

Dubbed Mr. Trans Texas Corridor

by Donald Mellon

Under the influence of lobbyists for private companies, State Senator Robert Nichols sold out Texas citizens by actively supporting the massive give-away of Texas assets known as the Trans Texas Corridor. As you may recall, the TTC called for 4000 miles of infrastructure corridors crisscrossing Texas. These corridors were to be the width of four football fields and carry everything from cars and trucks to oil and gas pipelines, power grids and even broadband internet data. And guess what? Everything that traveled these corridors would pay a toll: your electricity, your gas, your internet data, everything you buy that is shipped by road and, of course, you personally when you drive across Texas. And who receives most of the tolls? You guessed that also – the private companies that lobbied State Senator Robert Nichols and contributed to his election in an amount that made him the top lawmaker recipient of their largess behind only Dewhurst and Perry. If that is not enough to make you sick then consider this – the private companies are primarily foreign and not even Texas companies creating Texas jobs. Donna Campbell SD 25

Dr. Donna Campbell is gaining momentum in her race to become the next Texas State Senator of District 25. Apparently, Texans have had enough of politics as usual and endorsements from conservative heavy-weights have been rolling in for Dr. Campbell.

Influential conservative leaders Cathie Adams, David Barton, and Kelly Shackelford have all endorsed Dr. Campbell. Major groups such as Texas Right to Life, Texas Leadership Coalition, Texas Alliance for Life, and the Texas Home School Coalition PAC have also publicly endorsed Dr. Donna Campbell. Read more...

Do You Know Anybody Like Obama? Beck's Latest Expose Could Go Down in History

Thursday evening's episode of the Glenn Beck Program will likely go down in the history books as one of the very few (if not only) recorded instances of another human being exposing President Obama's myriad personal and professional inconsistencies in such a detailed and profound way. In fact, viewers might even consider burning themselves a DVD copy to serve as a record of what historians will one day prove.

On Friday, The Blaze will provide more details on the president's past deeds and associations, along with an additional clip from Beck's Thursday's broadcast. Until then, ask yourself the following question: Do you know anybody like Obama?

Obama Planned Revolution

Obama administration, including his czars and his closest Progressive supporters, are planning a manufactured insurgency against America. Using the media to garner both sympathy and support for his unfinished goals.

It was not the proverbial 3:00 a.m. phone call, but close enough. And it was not made to the White House, but to my house, which is not white, nor is it in DC. It was about 2:30 a.m. on 25 April 2012, and the call itself was somewhat unexpected. I had anticipated the telephone call from my DHS insider much earlier the previous day, but our schedules didn't synch up. I was traveling on an investigative assignment, while my source was in meetings all day. I had just fallen asleep, and was slumbering no more than 20 minutes when the phone rang.

In most households, a ringing phone at that time of night causes concern for everyone who hears it. In my household, it seems to surprise only my surly, 140 pound light-sleeping German Shepherd. He let out an objective grunt as I stepped over him to take the call in another room. It was "Rosebud," the code name given my insider source.

Stand with Governor Walker

The reforms that we have put in place in Wisconsin over the last 10 months have helped private businesses create nearly 30,000 new jobs, turned a $3.6 billion budget deficit into a surplus, without raising taxes or cutting essential services, and led to 88% of Wisconsin job creators saying that Wisconsin is headed in the right direction, up from just 10% one year ago. Despite these positive impacts, liberal out-of-state interests and big government union bosses are determined to continue their attack on Wisconsin's taxpayers. Together they have launched a recall election. Instead of moving Wisconsin forward, they want to move Wisconsin back to the tired old policies of the past. Wisconsin cannot afford this and I need your help. Please donate today. ~ Scott Walker
