Capitol Hill Police Block Tea Party Activists from Immigration Rally

Capitol Hill police are trying to block activists attending Wednesday's "Audit the IRS" rally from also attending a nearly day-long press conference on immigration, hosted by Reps. Steve King and Louie Gohmert. The IRS rally is on the west side of the Capitol, while the immigration event is on the east side. Organizers for the IRS event were told by Hill police that "your people" can only assemble on the west side. Organizers were told to remove the activists from the immigration event.

Today Marks the Return of the Tea Party

Posted June 19, 2013

Today, at two rallies bracketing the Capitol, Tea Party and conservative activists will again take center-stage on two issues dominating the national political dialogue. Reps. Steve King, Michele Bachmann and other members of the Tea Party Caucus will host a nearly day-long dialogue and discussion on immigration reform. On the other side of the Capitol, Tea Party grass roots organizations will hold a rally to "Audit the IRS," in response to the agency's efforts to intimidate conservative organizations.

Big Brother alert: Cameras in the cable box to monitor TV viewers

Posted June 19, 2013

It hardly gets more Orwellian than this. New technology would allow cable companies to peer directly into television watchers' homes and monitor viewing habits and reactions to product advertisements.

The technology would come via the cable box, and at least one lawmaker on Capitol Hill is standing in opposition.

Mass. Democratic Rep. Michael Capuano has introduced a bill, the We Are Watching You Act, to prohibit the technology on boxes and collection of information absent consumer permission. The bill would also require companies that do use the data to show "we are watching you" messages on the screen and to explain just what kinds of information is being captured and for what reasons, AdWeek reported.

Guess Who's Getting $70 Million in Bonuses?

Posted June 19, 2013

Despite being under heavy scrutiny from both Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill and all over the country for inappropriately targeting conservative groups, IRS employees are about to receive $70 million in bonuses.

The Internal Revenue Service is about to pay $70 million in employee bonuses despite an Obama administration directive to cancel discretionary bonuses because of automatic spending cuts enacted this year, according to a GOP senator.

Whistleblower: State Dept. 'Harassed' Her Children

Posted June 19, 2013

The State Department whistleblower who revealed alleged cover-ups of misconduct under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has paid a price for her honesty, according to her attorney.

Former State Department Office of Inspector General (OIG) investigator Aurelia Fedensisn told Foreign Policy through a legal representative that she has since had "law enforcement officers camp out in front of her house, harass her children, and attempt to [get her to] incriminate herself."

EXCLUSIVE: Hidden camera catches wireless company employees passing out 'Obama phones' to people who say they'll SELL them for drugs, shoes, handbags and spending cash

Posted June 19, 2013

Undercover video shot in May by a conservative activist shows two corporate distributors of free cell phones handing out the mobile devices to people who have promised to sell them for drug money, to buy shoes and handbags, to pay off their bills, or just for extra spending cash.

The 'Obama phone,' which made its ignominious YouTube debut outside a Cleveland, Ohio presidential campaign event last September, is a project of the Federal Communications Commission's 'Lifeline' program, which makes land line and mobile phones available to Americans who meet low-income requirements.

Am I a traitor?

Posted June 17, 2013 ~ Doug Hagmann

The question hit me like a lightning bolt as I looked in the mirror upon awaking this morning. Am I a traitor to my country, to my fellow citizens of the United States of America? Have I abandoned all sound reason and logic and lost my moral compass?

Have I somehow sold out my ideals and thereby my family, friends and fellow reporters?  Apparently someone in this administration must believe I am a traitor and lost my way, for I am the target of active telephone monitoring by the National Security Agency (NSA), a branch of the Department of Defense and an agency tasked with monitoring foreign intelligence and communications.

Stand with Louie Gohmert (Texas), Steve King and Michele Bachmann

Posted June 17, 2013

Seventy House Republicans are planning a politically risky showdown with Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to try to force additional debate on an immigration bill they say will mean amnesty for illegal immigrants and have dire consequences for the country.

The mainstream media will not report on this brave action by our finest Representatives.

Or if they do they will give it a negative spin.

Please help to get this important report out to all of the thinking voters who you know.

"petitioning for a special Republican conference meeting on the bill, a “highly unusual” move to go head-to-head with the speaker, according to Reps. Michele Bachmann (Minn.), Steve King (Iowa) and Louie Gohmert (Texas), who are serving as spokespersons for the group."

Free Ride Feds: Experts say fraud rampant in federal worker disability program

Posted June 17, 2013

First of a three-part series
A postal worker who ran marathons found her race times improved after she began drawing federal disability checks for an alleged back injury.

Another disabled federal employee went scuba diving, skied in Switzerland and did flips on a trapeze. She spent part of her $193,000 in disability payments on a boat named "Free Ride" before she was caught.

A Justice Department lawyer collected $90,000 in annual disability checks after claiming the stress of his job kept him off the job. Apparently the cable TV show he began hosting while drawing disability pay wasn't so stressful.

Audit the IRS & No Amnesty Rally ~ Dallas

JUNE 19 (Wed) Dallas, Texas 11:00-1:00 AND 5:00-6:30

We all agree we have to keep the pressure on congress to muzzle the IRS and  nix Amnesty without Border Security.  And we know that Senator John Cornyn is one of the key senators we need to pressure –and scold –especially for his behavior lately.

So, together with other TEA/912's, those of us that couldn't attend the big rally in D.C., sponsored by Tea Party Patriots and others, are calling for a SYMPATHY RALLY this Wednesday. And, since many of you have indicated that a short lunchtime rally is better, while many others prefer after work --we are going to accommodate:  WE WILL HOLD TWO RALLIES !

  • The first RALLY AGAINST TYRANNY will be from 11am to 1pm;
  • The second RALLY AGAINST TYRANNY will be from 5pm to 6:30.

Both rallies will be at the same place:  On the street beneath Sen. John Cornyn's office: 5001 Spring Valley Road, Dallas,75244  Map this | Directions To.

Pick your best Time to protest –hopefully you will attend both rallies!
And pick your worst Tyranny --come with your sign and your passion for America!

Very Important!  PLEASE RSVP with your name and cell number!  [We want to make sure our numbers don't exceed the maximums before we need a permit.  Also, as our exposure increases, there is always the threat of infiltration by progressives, and RSVP-ing provides an extra measure of security].

True the Vote Update on IRS Lawsuit

Posted June 19, 2013

It's becoming obvious that we're all alone in our lawsuit against the IRS.

Just last week, the Director of the FBI told a Congressional hearing that he didn't even know the name of the person in charge of his so-called “investigation”!!

If the FBI won't even take this scandal seriously, we can't count on anyone.

It's truly ‘We the People’ against our own government, and that means we have no choice. We must win!

This lawsuit is taking every penny we've got right now, and I need your help to cover our legal bills for the coming week.

Will you pitch in right now to help us stay in this fight?

Conservatives attack Republican effort to expand ethanol mandate

Posted June 19, 2013

Conservatives are criticizing efforts by some House Republicans to expand the federal government’s ethanol mandate to include ethanol produced from natural gas.

While Republicans have been pushing for full repeal of the Renewable Fuel Standard, some have argued that until the mandate is actually repealed ethanol made from natural gas should be used to “crack” the monopoly corn ethanol has in meeting government targets.

“Unfortunately, the inescapable fact is that we do not have the votes right now for full repeal in the House or the Senate,” Melissa Kelly, spokeswoman for Texas Republican Rep. Pete Olson, told The Daily Caller News Foundation.  Olson has introduced a bill to expand the RFS to include ethanol made from natural gas.

Senator Cornyn (finally) comes clean

Posted June 18, 2013

It's hard to fight the monumental corruption of this Administration when your own skirts are unclean.

From today's National Journal, a report that Senator Cornyn of Texas has failed for some time to report pension payments he's receiving:

Texas Republican John Cornyn supplemented his Senate salary with a trio of public pensions last year from his days as a Texas judge and elected official-a practice some fiscal watchdog groups have attacked as "double dipping."

Cornyn, who is the minority whip and the No. 2 ranking Republican in the Senate, reported collecting $65,383 in public retirement benefits in 2012 in addition to his $174,000 salary as a U.S. senator.

Cornyn's office did not respond to requests for comment.
Elected to the Senate in 2002, Cornyn is a former district judge, Texas Supreme Court justice, and state attorney general. In 2012, he collected pensions from three separate state retirement programs.

Texas Gov. Perry Vetoes 26 Bills - Defunds Drunk Travis DA, Protects School TEKS/SBOE, Redundant Lilly Ledbetter

Posted June 17, 2013

Texas Governor Perry has vetoed 26 of the bills that passed out of the 2013 Texas Legislative
Session, and he also line item vetoed a couple of other bills. These bills range from defunding the Public Integrity Unit because the Travis County District Attorney is a convicted criminal and a drunk driver who brings discredit to the office, to protecting the integrity of the State Board of Education, to not allowing the Lilly Ledbetter bill to go forward because it is already federal law and it would be redundant and would end up keeping women from getting hired according to some experts. Then of course last month Governor Perry already vetoed SB 346 which many believed was a bill that Joe Straus was going to use to target conservative non-profits who speak out against him for such things as not being pro-life.

Palin to Congress: Go on 'Cruz Control'

Posted June 17, 2013

On Saturday, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said Congress could get more done if it went on "Cruz control."

“You know what I wish Congress would do?" Palin asked. "If they would just for one week... put themselves on Cruz control... on Ted Cruz control."

She said Congress should try just try it "for a week" in order to "see where things go."

"I think we'd see some solutions," she said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference in Washington, D.C. that she headlined.

While introducing Palin, Faith and Freedom Coalition executive director Ralph Reed said Palin was leading conservatives long before conservatives even knew it. He emphasized how critical Palin's endorsements have been in electing conservatives and singled out her endorsement of Cruz during the 2010 GOP Senate primary in Texas.

Cruz noted at this year's CPAC that he would not be in the Senate without Palin's endorsement. And Palin said, of Cruz, that he is the type of senator who "chews up barbed-wire and spits out rust."

Dad of Valedictorian Who’s Mic Was Shut Off: ‘Principal Did Threaten’ My Son

On Friday, the elder Reimer told TheBlaze that reports are true regarding Remington’s former principal allegedly threatening to write a letter to the college where his son is headed this fall — the Naval Academy — to inform officials there of Reimer’s actions during his speech.

Ted Cruz: Obama Assaulting Freedom on Every Front

Posted June 14, 2013

From IRS targeting to the PRISM program, the Obama administration has disregarded our most basic freedoms as part of a Nixonian campaign to discredit its political enemies, Sen. Ted Cruz said in a speech Thursday.

“Using the machinery of government to target your political enemies is wrong. It was wrong when Nixon did it, and it’s wrong now,” the Texas Republican told an audience at the Faith and Freedom Coalition.

Cruz characterized the nation’s current disagreements over religious freedom as part of an unbroken struggle waged since the days of the pilgrims.

The Cornyn Con

Posted June 13, 2013

The Big Fig: Texas Senator John Cornyn has finally released the long-awaited text of his “RESULTS” amendment, allegedly designed to strengthen the border security provisions in the “Gang of 8″ immigration legalization bill now before the Senate. Even before it was released, Cornyn’s amendment was derided by Gang-of-8 skeptics as a relatively insignificant change that would mainly give Republicans cover to vote for an amnesty bill. (‘See, we improved the border provisions.’) But Washington Examiner‘s Conn Carroll compares the text of Cornyn’s amendment with the language it replaces–and it turns out that the amendment isn’t as bad as feared. It’s worse!
