Report: IRS Officials Knew Conservative Groups Were Being Targeted in 2011

Posted May 13, 2013

An Inspector General report indicates that IRS officials knew as early as 2011 that conservative groups were being targeted for additional scrutiny in determing tax-exempt status, contradicting previous statements by the agency.

On Friday, the IRS admitted to and apologized for targeting groups that had the words "Tea Party" or "patriots" in their name. The IRS claimed the misconduct was the actions of "low-level" employees at its Cincinnati office.

According to the draft of the report the Associated Press reviewed on Saturday, Lois G. Lerner, the head of the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt organizations, was told in 2011 that organizations with "Tea Party," ''Patriot," or "9/12 Project" in their names "were being flagged for additional and often burdensome scrutiny."

IRS staffers reportedly "held a meeting with chief counsel so that everyone would have the latest information on the issue" in August of 2011. In January of 2012, the criteria for targeting groups was changed to "political action type organizations involved in limiting/expanding Government, educating on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, [and] social economic reform/movement." Lerner reportedly asked the criteria be changed "immediately."

How Mark Levin Led Fight Against IRS

Posted May 13, 2013

When accusations first emerged in 2010 that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) had targeted conservative and Tea Party groups for additional scrutiny, it was unclear how widespread the problem was, or how to respond.

Some groups sued the IRS. Some contacted Congress, which sent inquiries to the IRS over a period of several months, beginning in October 2012. The House Ways and Means Committee, which is opening hearings on the subject on Wednesday, sent three separate letters to the IRS--but the IRS claimed no knowledge of the issue.

It took the efforts of Mark Levin's Landmark Legal Foundation to find a strategy that would yield answers. Levin, who is also one of the most popular conservative talk radio hosts in the nation, decided to approach the Inspector General of the U.S. Treasury rather than the IRS itself, which is typically opaque in its responses.

In a letter dated March 23, 2012, Levin cited reports of unfair targeting, and reported: "The information demanded [of Tea Party groups] in many cases goes far beyond the appropriate level of inquiry [for tax-exempt status]."

Ways and Means to IRS: ‘Provide All Communications Containing Words ‘Tea Party,’ ‘Patriot,’ or ‘Conservative’—By Wednesday

Posted May 13, 2013

(CNSNews.com) - The House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Oversight has thrown down an investigative gauntlet to the Internal Revenue Service, demanding that the agency hand over by next Wednesday every communication in its records that includes the words “tea party,” “patriot” or “conservative.”

The committee is also demanding of the IRS that by next Wednesday it provide the committee with the names and titles of all individuals who were involved in targeting conservative non-profit groups for more intensive review of their applications for non-profit status.

Posted May 13, 2013

Appearing on Fox News this Sunday, Pat Smith, mother of murdered State Department employee Sean Smith, wished former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton a happy Mother’s Day. “I want to wish Hillary a happy Mother’s Day,” she said. “She’s got her child. I don’t have mine, because of her.” Smith pointed out that Clinton had “blamed the video just like the rest of them did.”

She added, “I want someone to admit that they blew it, and that they made the wrong decision … The government doesn’t care.”

She went on, “We have other sons and daughters over there. It’s too late for my son, I know that, but we have more out there and they will be treated the same way.”

Benghazi whistle-blower a Democrat, voted for Hillary and Obama twice

A key Benghazi whistle-blower who has allegedly been punished for speaking out against the administration is a registered Democrat who voted for both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

The lawyer of Gregory Hicks, the former U.S. deputy chief of mission in Libya who testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Wednesday, confirmed the information to The Daily Caller on Saturday.

According to the lawyer, Victoria Toensing, Hicks voted for Clinton during the 2008 primary, and for then-Illinois Sen. Obama in the 2008 general election. He again voted for Obama in 2012.

Demanding the truth about Extortion 17

How many Americans have heard of Extortion 17? Extortion 17 was the call sign for the Chinook helicopter shot down in Afghanistan on the night of August 6, 2011. Killed in that crash were 25 special ops forces, including 15 members of Seal Team 6, 5 national Guard troops and 8 Afghans.

Today, the families of the military killed in that crash held a press conference to lay out the coverup by Obama and the military that has gone on since that crash.

Terri Schiavo's Brother Plea to Texas House Against Senator Deuell's SB 303

Posted May 10, 2013

The Association of American Physicians & Surgeons (AAPS) labels Senator Deuell’s  SB 303  The Death Panel Bill.   In our opinion Dr. Deuell himself earns the title Dr. Death for authoring this bill that transfers "do not attempt resuscitation” (DNAR) power from patients and their personal physicians to hospital administration.

We recently received an email concerning this dreadful bill from a person with painful first-hand knowledge about how those with little apparent respect for life, if given the authority by this bill, can terminate the life of those fighting to live.  We reprint the email below and ask that you take a few minutes to read it and hopefully act upon his request.

T.J. Fabby Announces Campaign for Texas State Representative

Posted May 9, 2013

T.J. Fabby formally announces his second run for state representative. He will, once again, be seeking election to the District 10 seat currently held by Jim Pitts, who has been in office for 20 years.

Fabby had this to say about the upcoming race, “I truly believe that most of the folks in Ellis and western Henderson County would choose life, freedom and fiscal sanity if it was clearly marked on the ballot. I want to make sure that those things are on the ballot. We look forward to spreading this message of liberty, property rights, and honest limited government to even more voters this election season and continuing to ignite the brushfires of liberty in the hearts and minds of folks in our communities.”
