Breaking News on TheBlaze.com: Saudi National with Possible Ties to Boston Terrorist Bombings to be Deported?

Added 9:50am April 18, 2013

Appearing on “Hannity” Wednesday night, the Investigative Project on Terrorism’s Steve Emerson reported that Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, the Saudi national who was briefly named a “person of interest” in the Boston Marathon bombings, is being deported on Tuesday. He based his information on a number of his confidential sources.

“I just learned from my own sources that he is now going to be deported on national security grounds next Tuesday,” Emerson said.

Host Sean Hannity referenced a report by Reuters that revealed President Barack Obama met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal at the White House Wednesday. They reportedly discussed the conflict in Syria.

“The meeting was not on Obama’s public schedule,” the report adds.

Updates from TheBlaze.com

Sources tell TheBlaze that the Saudi national is set to be deported on “security and related grounds.” His visa also has been revoked. Below is some of the information that has been communicated to us:
1. One source at the FBI and another at the Saudi Embassy referred to the student as connected to an important Saudi family.
2. An “event” was created on this guy three days ago.  An event is a file.  The file contains his deportation record and the reason he is being deported.  According to ICE the reason is under section 212 3B — “Security and related grounds” –  “Terrorist activities”
3. His visa has been revoked.
4. The FBI said a file was started “just in case he was found to be connected to the crime,” however, the file shows he was scheduled to be deported.  This was not a precaution, it was in “orders.”
5. One source said they believe a “voluntary” departure has been signed — that means the Saudi Student could be out of the country as early as today.
6. The file was immediately classified.  We believe the deportation order will be classified as well — requiring a FOIA to get it.
7. The story was going to be “he wanted to go home,” however he was actually being deported.
8. Our source said the FBI believes the Saudi student is tied to 2 to 3 more people.
9. Our source said this “looks like they were trying to make this a ‘lone wolf’ crime so, the Saudi government would be spared embarrassment and the U.S. would avoid explaining how a terror cell was active when we had AQ on the run.”

Grassley Launches Effort to Prohibit Common Core Funding

Posted April 18, 2013

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is asking his colleagues to co-sign a letter asking the Senate Appropriations Committee that funds education to cut off all future funds that would allow the Obama administration to “cajole state’s” into participating in the Common Core State Standards and it’s assessments.  This comes on the heels of the Republican National Committee voting in favor of a resolution critical of the Common Core State Standards.

His office in an email sent late this afternoon document the steps the Obama administration has taken to push states to adopt the Common Core.

  • Making adoption of Common Core a pre-requisite for a state even being able to compete for Race to the Top funds.
  • Directly funding the two assessment consortia developing tests aligned to Common Core using Race to the Top funds.
  • Assembling a panel to review the work of the two assessment consortia.
  • Making implementation of Common Core or coordination with Common Core a funding priority for other, unrelated competitive grants administered by the Department of Education.
  • Making participation in Common Core essentially a prerequisite for being awarded a waiver from the Department of requirements in the No Child Left Behind Act.

The email said, “This means no more Race to the Top funds in support of Common Core or the assessments aligned with Common Core and stopping further federal review of the assessments produced by the two consortiums.  It also means that the Department could not penalize a state that chooses to leave Common Core by revoking its NCLB waiver. The deadline for senators to sign on this letter is April 25 so it can reach the subcommittee in time to be considered. “

Assault Weapons Ban Goes Down 40Y-60N

Posted April 18, 2013

Senator Dianne Feinstein's assault weapon ban amendment failed to pass the Senate today. It bans the sale of 157 different semi-automatic weapons and high capacity magazines.  The amendment was long expected to fail.

The final vote was 40 in favor, 60 against.

Defeated Obama Rages: 'Memories of These Children Demand' More Power for Democrats

Posted April 18, 2013

With the failure of the Democrats’ attempt to exploit the Newtown school shooting to press forward gun control measures, President Obama took to the microphones along with the relatives of Sandy Hook victims to demonize his opposition. This, of course, was his strategy all along: knowing that he did not have 60 votes in the Democrat-controlled Senate to pass his gun control legislation, he pressed forward anyway, hoping to paint Republicans as intransigent, immoral tools of the gun lobby who don’t care about dead children. After demonizing Republicans, Obama hopes, he can press Americans into voting Democrats back into power in the House of Representatives.

“The memories of these children demand [gun control],” Obama concluded.
What he meant was obvious: the memories of dead children in Sandy Hook demands that voters give Obama more Senators and more Congresspeople. How convenient for him.

Top Democrat: Obamacare 'Huge Train Wreck Coming Down'

Posted April 18, 2013

Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) warned he sees “a huge train wreck coming down” with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, known to its critics as Obamacare.

The candid comments came during a Wednesday hearing with Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

“I'm very concerned that not enough is being done so far--very concerned," said Baucus. "Small businesses have no idea what to do, what to expect.”

Baucus appeared frustrated with Sebelius’s unresponsiveness in supplying the senator with information designed to educate and assist citizens with understanding the massively complex healthcare overhaul.

"You need data,” Baucus said to Sebelius. “Do you have any data? You've never given me data. You only give me concepts, frankly.”

Baucus’s comments echo those made last week by Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), one of Obamacare’s chief architects, who called Obamacare “probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress.”

Posted April 17, 2013 (Original Post Oct. 31, 2012)

Thanks to pro-lifers Michelle Wolven and Catherine Davis, a small group of us have been on this story for weeks.

While they were digging through online records of Georgia abortion clinics, they stumbled on the fact that Attorney General Eric Holder’s wife Sharon Malone Holder (both pictured right) co-owns with her sister an Atlanta area abortion clinic building.

The building is located at 6210 Old National Highway, College Park, Georgia.

The business itself is called Old National GYN.

Full text: The 844-page immigration reform bill

Below is the full text of the “Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act” introduced by Sens. Schumer, McCain, Durbin, Graham, Menendez, Rubio, Bennet, and Flake:
From the statement of Congressional findings:

Immigration Deal Begins Amnesty 6 Months After Passage

Posted April 17, 2013

Even if language were added to the proposal requiring a secure border prior to full legal status, nothing would prevent a future Congress from altering this. A future Congress could also remove the 10 year window and make eligible for citizenship anyone having "Probationary Resident Immigrant" status.

While this proposal will have vast implications across immigration policy, it does two very specific things. It requires DHS to submit a plan to secure the border. Then, it immediately gives legal status to 11-12 million illegal immigrants. Anything that happens after that is almost meaningless.

The memo outlining the basic provisions of the proposal is embedded below.

Stop Censoring the Abortionist Gosnell Mass Murder Trial

Posted April 17, 2013 ~ Media Research Center

Since Friday at 8 p.m., we have received more than 26,000 petitions (and counting) of people who are outraged by the liberal media's deliberate censoring of the news of the Gosnell abortion case. Not only did the media not report on the trial; they didn't even show up! Below is a picture taken from the courtroom that shows the empty seats that had been reserved for the news media.

Gosnell Mass Murder Trial Censored

Here's an update, courtesy of MRC news analyst Matthew Balan: Yesterday, CBS finally ended its on-air coverage blackout of Kermit Gosnell's murder trial on Monday's CBS This Morning, airing two segments on the story a month after opening arguments began. Jan Crawford acknowledged that the Gosnell case "has received little national coverage." Meanwhile, the ABC and NBC morning and evening newscasts continue to ignore the ongoing legal proceedings against the abortionist.

Here's what I'd like for you to do: Join the thousands who are outraged that the media have blocked the truth of this horrifying case of abortionist and alleged murderer Dr. Kermit Gosnell by signing the petition right now. We must stand together to demand the truth!

Grand Jury: Gosnell Aborted ‘The Really Big Ones’ on Sundays

Posted April 17, 2013

(Warning: Some of the testimony and photos in this story are graphic.)

(CNSNews.com) – Dr. Kermit Gosnell, who currently is on trial in Philadelphia for the murder of seven babies that were born alive and then killed, would, according to the grand jury report on the case, perform the latest-term abortions – “the really big ones” – on Sundays.

Gosnell did these very late-term abortions at his clinic in West Philadelphia assisted only by his wife, Pearl Gosnell, on the one day the clinic was closed, Sunday. Other clinic workers were not allowed to assist in these abortions and it is believed that many of the medical records of these procedures may have been destroyed, according to the grand jury report.

We found our candidate and worked to the point of exhaustion.  We beat Craig Lowe, a member of Bloomberg's Mayors for Gun Control, by 9 1/2 points. Our new mayor is Ed Braddy. Life is good!

Obama administration has SLASHED budget for domestic bombing prevention by 45 per cent, says former Homeland Security Assistant Secretary

  • $20 million budget under Bush became $11 million under Obama
  • Both administrations neglected domestic bombing prevention, devoting a tiny fraction of the $1 billion earmarked for IED prevention overseas
  • Obama issued a lengthy 'National Policy for Countering Improvised Explosive Devices' in February but a spokesman won't say if it failed

West texas fertilizer plant explosion video - Raw footage 4-17-2013

Massive explosion rocks Texas town

Posted April 18, 2013

WEST, Texas (AP) — A massive explosion at a fertilizer plant near Waco on Wednesday injured dozens of people and killed an unknown number of others, leaving the factory a smoldering ruin and leveling buildings for blocks in every direction.

The explosion at West Fertilizer in downtown West, a community about 20 miles north of Waco, happened around 7 p.m. and could be heard as far away as Waxahachie, 45 miles to the north. It sent flames shooting high into the night sky and rained burning embers, shrapnel and debris down on shocked and frightened residents.

A member of the city council, Al Vanek, said a four-block area around the explosion was “totally decimated.” Other witnesses compared the scene to that of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, and authorities said the plant made materials similar to that used to fuel the bomb that tore apart that city’s Murrah Federal Building.

Texas Governor Rick Perry Makes a Sharp Left Turn

Posted April 18, 2013

By JoAnn Fleming, Executive Director, Grassroots America – We the People PAC; and for identification purposes – Chair, TX Legislature’s TEA Party Caucus Advisory Committee

Today, Governor Rick Perry made a sharp left turn. According to sources inside the GOP Caucus meeting, Perry has decided to abandon his own promises to the people of Texas. One year ago – on Tax Day 2012, no less – Gov. Perry unveiled a “State Budget Compact” and promised us he would champion and push for these five principles:

1. Practice Truth in Budgeting
2. Support a Constitutional limit of spending to the growth of population & inflation
3. Oppose any new taxes or tax increases; make the small business tax exemption permanent
4. Preserve a strong Rainy Day Fund
5. Cut unnecessary and duplicative government programs and agencies

One year later, due to a lack of leadership, these promises won’t likely survive the legislative session. Once again, we get a lot of talk, but little real action. Today, Perry signaled to Texas House Republicans that these promises really no longer matter.

If that’s not bad enough, Gov. Perry is asking House Republicans to walk the plank for him in support of busting the spending cap, putting Texas further into debt, and raiding the Rainy Day Fund. In exchange, Perry promised to...

Urgent Public Hearing Meeting in Austin Friday 4-19: Smart Meters and Right to Op-Out

Posted April 18, 2013

There is an important  public hearing in Austin this Friday, April 19, 11:00 a.m. on Smart Meter opt-out SmartMeters.

Anyone who lives in the Austin area that can attend the meeting to support this initiative is appreciated.

Mason is currently in the process of installing “water” meters controlled by the city remotely, which we suspect are “Smart Meters” and of course the next steps here would be electric Smart Meters.  A new tea party member who just moved to Mason is building a house here and she is faced with the challenge of the City insisting the Smart Meter be installed.  We  are meeting with the Mason City Manager tomorrow!   A timely opportunity to advocate our Constitutional rights! ~ Nancy Clay

True the Vote Submits Letter to Texas House Elections Committee Supporting Anti-Fraud Proposals

Watchdog questions the motives of lobbyist who was convicted of election fraud felonies in Nevada

HOUSTON, TX. April 16, 2013 - True the Vote (TTV), the leading national, voters' rights and election integrity organization, today submitted a letter to Texas House Elections Committee members that refutes recent false criticisms of proposals regarding early voting, roll maintenance and polling place security.

"It's a sad state of affairs when an activist with more than a dozen voter fraud convictions, Amy Busefink, represents organizations that violated Texas Election Codes against the proposals that could prevent similar illegal behavior in the future. If you've ever wondered why voter ID and other integrity measures became so popular across all demographics, look no further," Engelbrecht argued. Read more...

Texas Second Amendment Preservation Bill

Posted April 17, 2013

In accordance with the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the Texas House will to vote on a Second Amendment Preservation bill as early as this week.

With several other bills that would restore Second Amendment rights to Texas citizens left “pending” in committee, HB 928 will see its day on the House floor.

The Second Amendment Preservation bill essentially invokes the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. That amendment states that any authority or power not explicitly granted to the federal government by the U.S. Constitution is reserved to the states or individuals. Such a bill is nicknamed a “nullification” bill. If a majority of the states enact similar legislation or amendments to their state constitutions, ideally, the federal law becomes unenforceable.

The language of the Second Amendment Preservation bill clearly states that no state, county or local law enforcement employee or officer will be allowed to participate in or enforce any federal law that infringes upon the Second Amendment. That is, they cannot do so unless the state has similar restrictions, laws or regulations in the state’s government or penal codes. Specified restrictions include those on magazine capacity, accessories and firearms themselves.

Castro, 8 council members face ethics complaints

Posted April 16, 2013

Tea party PAC filed charges with state.

A Southeast Texas political group has filed complaints alleging improper reporting and other infractions in campaign finance documents against nine City Council members, including the mayor.

The group says it's retaliation against the council's 2011 decision to offer benefits to the domestic partners of city employees.

Calling itself the Texas Ethics Advisory Board, the tea party-affiliated political action committee targets “progressive candidates, officeholders and political action committees who have long been contributing to the runaway growth of government.”

Huntsville resident William “Bill” Elmer, chairman of the advisory board, and three others filed complaints in early March with the state-run Texas Ethics Commission against Mayor Julián Castro and council members Diego Bernal, Ivy Taylor, Leticia Ozuna, Rey Saldaña, David Medina, Ray Lopez, Cris Medina and Reed Williams.

Constitutional Experts Support Texas Religious Freedom Amendment

Posted April 15, 2013

A group of distinguished religious liberty and constitutional experts, including leading law professors from Harvard, Notre Dame, Stanford, University of Texas, St. Mary’s and others, have released a letter in support of the Texas Religious Freedom Amendment (HJR 110 and SJR 4). They argue that putting the protection in our state constitution will give our religious freedom protection “greater visibility and greater insulation from shifting political majorities.” Read the letter.

"Obama Will Let Me Go"

Posted April 15, 2013

The debate in Washington on immigration reform has had no political impact, but the debate is having a major impact on south Texas, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Officials say the number of people entering the U.S. illegally is way up and, tragically, the number of undocumented immigrants who have been found dead in the unforgiving Texas Brush Country is way up, and is on path this year to beat last year's record for the number of people found dead in the ranch country.

Linda Vickers, who owns a ranch in Brooks County, which is Ground Zero for the immigration debate, pins the blame directly on talk of 'amnesty' and a 'path to citizenship' for people who entered the U.S. illegally.

She recalls one man being arrested on her ranch not long ago.

"The Border Patrol agent was loading one man up, and he told the officer in Spanish, 'Obama's gonna let me go'."

Austin ISD Approves Same-Sex Benefits

Posted April 15, 2013

Austin ISD, under the direction of Superintendent Meria Carstarphen, has announced that the district would join Pflugerville ISD in beginning to offer same-sex domestic partnership benefits. We have argued in detail that the creation and recognition of “domestic partnerships” by any governmental entity is a clear violation of the Texas Constitution. Earlier this week, Texas Values testified in favor of HB 1568 by Rep. Springer that would essentially eliminate the healthcare funding for any school district that seeks to offer these benefits.
