Mitch McConnell Votes to Fund Obamacare

Posted March 21, 2013

Hey, remember that awesome CPAC speech by Mitch McConnell?

The one where Mitch McConnell said — and I quote — “Obamacare should be repealed root and branch. And we’re not backing down from this fight.”

And the same speech where Mitch McConnell also said, “This law is a disaster, and anybody who thinks we’ve moved beyond it is dead wrong.”

Well, as I told you, Mitch McConnell excels at saying one thing and doing another. Yesterday, Mitch McConnell voted to fund Obamacare.

Hey Utah, he joined Orrin Hatch in doing so. Remember, just last year on the campaign trail Orrin Hatch told you all how he was going to absolutely fight to rid us of Obamacare at all costs. And he got a large portion of the conservative movement to cheer him on as a result.

Abortionist Joked: 'This Baby Is Big Enough to Walk Around With Me or Walk Me to the Bus Stop'

Posted March 21, 2013

(CNSNews.com) – Dr. Kermit Gosnell, an abortionist now on trial in Philadelphia charged with seven counts of first-degree murder--he allegedly cut the spinal cords of late-term aborted babies who were born alive--apparently used to joke about the large size of some the infants he aborted and in one case, according to what a co-worker told the grand jury, said, “This baby is big enough to walk around with me or walk me to the bus stop.”

Gosnell, 72, who ran a multi-million dollar abortion business in West Philadelphia, was arrested on Jan. 19, 2011, and his trial started Monday, Mar. 18, 2013. The first-degree murder counts refer to seven late-term aborted babies who were born alive and then killed, their spinal cords cut with scissors.

Levin: 'These Damn Politicians Are So Damn Lucky We, As A Nation, Haven't Risen Up'

Posted March 21, 2013

"I won't even tell you what's going through my head. If I tell you what's going through my head--I think most of you will agree with me but I can't do it over the airwaves. I'm not even talking about foul language, I just--what goes through my head is--well, I'll tell you:

"These damn politicians are so damn lucky we, as a nation, haven't risen up. What they're doing to this country, our military, our border, our citizenship, our currency, our finances," Levin said.

Levin also slammed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) for blaming the deaths of seven marines in Nevada on sequestration:
"Harry Reid, you're the lowest of the low-lives, you know that? You really are at the bottom of the sewer."

Federal employees who don’t pay taxes would be fired under bill that passed committee

Posted March 21, 2013

WASHINGTON — Citing figures indicating that more than 100,000 federal employees owe more than $1 billion in federal taxes, a House committee on Wednesday approved legislation that would require the firing of government workers who are "seriously tax delinquent."

The legislation, introduced by Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, advanced through the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. It now has to pass the full House to be implemented into law.

"Most taxpayers file accurate tax returns and pay the taxes they owe on time, regardless of their income," Chaffetz, a Republican, said during the hearing Wednesday. "Federal employees and individuals applying for federal employment should do the same."

Rep blasts higher ed aid to Pakistan, as military suspends US tuition assistance

Posted March 20, 2013

Why is the U.S. funding higher education for its "Benedict Arnold ally" Pakistan when the Pentagon is cutting tuition assistance for American troops?

That's the question Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, asked as he prepared to introduce a bill Tuesday to give Pakistan aid the "sequester" treatment -- halting the money until U.S. tuition assistance is restored.

"Why are we funding education programs for our Benedict Arnold ally when we can't fund -- or don't fund -- the education for our military? And to Pakistan of all places, where hatred for America is at its highest. Washington should watch its spending and prioritize," Poe said on the floor Monday. "It's time, Mr. Speaker, to sequester Pakistan."

Poe is the latest congressional lawmaker to try and short-circuit the tuition assistance cuts, which the administration began to make in light of the sequester. Last week, Sens. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., and Kay Hagan, D-N.C., also introduced an amendment to a budget bill to restore the program.

URGENT: Are Texas Republicans Prepared to Support Citizenship for Illegals?

Posted March 21, 2013

Take ActionAccording to TheHill.com, the U.S. House Republicans are working in secret with the House Democrats on a "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" bill that will include citizenship for illegal aliens:

A group of eight lawmakers — four Republicans and four Democrats — has been meeting privately to craft a comprehensive immigration overhaul, and they told Boehner and other Republican leaders last week that they were close to a deal.

They’re essentially in agreement over how to proceed,” Boehner told reporters at a press conference...

The House group has kept a tight lid on details of the legislation they are drafting, but Hoyer said it would include a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S., which is perhaps the most contentious issue in the immigration debate.

As noted, these discussions are being conducted under a high level of secrecy:

The House immigration group has received far less attention than its counterpart in the Senate, in part because of its members’ own desire for secrecy.

The idea of secret backroom negotiatiions deciding the outcome of such a highly-contentious issue should trouble any American.

The article above doesn't identify the Republican members of the secret committee, but they are apparently negotiating with the support of the House Republicans.  This begs the question: where do Texans stand?

We just called the offices of one Texas Republican, a member of the House leadership, who informed us that the congressman had no comment on support or opposition to citizenship for illegal aliens.  Friends, this was a Texas Republican.

If you don't know exactly where your congressman stands on citizenship for illegal aliens, this would be a very good time to find out EXACTLY where your congressman stands and to let him or her know exactly where you stand:

U.S. House Switchboard : (202) 224-3121

PLEASE NOTE : Nothing goes to the floor of the House without the support of the House Rules Committee, led by Chairman Pete Sessions.  If you are in Chairman Sessions' district, it is particularly important that you let him know where you stand on this issue.  Sessions can stop a citizenship proposal, or move it forward.

Why Is Texas the ‘Number One Place in the Nation to Do Business’? Gov. Rick Perry Tells Us [The Blaze]

Posted March 19, 2013

Five of the top six cities for good jobs in the U.S. are located in Texas, a state that also enjoyed a budget surplus of roughly $8.8 billion in 2012. That’s no coincidence, Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) told TheBlaze.

To determine the ten best cities for good jobs, Forbes obtained data on the 100 largest metropolitan areas from Moody’s Analytics, which gets the majority of its data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The cities were ranked on more than just raw job growth and volume of low-wage jobs added. Forbes took into account unemployment rate, employment growth, per-capita income, estimated future employment, future job growth numbers and other factors.

Here are the top 10 cities for good jobs, a list dominated by Texas:
