47 states revolt against Obama gun control

Posted January 18, 2013

Thousands of gun owners across America have had enough of the Obama administration's attack on the Second Amendment – and they're preparing to take their concerns to the capitols in at least 47 states this Saturday at 12 p.m.

Texan Eric Reed, founder and national  coordinator of the "Guns Across America" rallies, told WND he's irritated about all the talk of new gun-control regulations and overreach by the federal government in violation of our Second Amendment rights.

"I was trying to figure out why people weren't being more proactive about this, Reed said. "Then I realized I'm part of the problem. It takes somebody to stand up and say, 'Hey, we're not going to accept this. We're against it.'

"We want Americans who feel the same way to come out. We want to stand up, be united and get our point across."

Guns Across America: Florida

Please  attend the "Guns Across America" rally on Jan. 19, 2013, at your state capital building (Except Florida).  This event starts at "high noon" local time.  I'm posting a link for the event, and for my Facebook page, "Gun Control = More Crime."  Please America, I implore you to stand up for our 2nd amendment rights.  Our voices must be heard.

Florida Patriots: We are meeting at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 Broad St., Brooksville, FL 34601.  This is to help people come from all over the state.

Lawful gun owners use their weapon reluctantly, and only in the gravest of danger. They exercise skill and discipline with their defensive training. Unlike police, a lawful gun owner will never give you a speeding ticket, or tax you to provide you with protection.

Responsible gun owners have always acted as peacekeepers in society.

We acknowledge our responsibility to our well-being, and those around us. We acknowledge that laws are not followed by criminals, and valiantly stand opposed to restrictions on the tools we legally use for defense.

American Gun Owners.
Armed, trained, and peaceful.

You Can't Ban Evil

Proposal for a United, National Convention of Patriots

Re-Posted January 18, 2013
by Jim Delaney on MinuteMenNews.com

Of late, there’s been much more talk on conservative blogs about uniting and moving forward with more energy and effectiveness. While I am heartened by that sentiment, I am mindful that action always speaks louder than words.

We can do what we can to organize locally, as many of us have done, and to actively participate in the local political party machine to effect change from within, as some of us have also done, but that is simply NOT enough.

The major parties are powerful and influential precisely because they are well-coordinated and well-organized both locally and nationally. Thus, patriotic organizations’ deliberately or unwittingly restricting themselves to localized activity and pontificating alone is inadequate.

The truth is we need to be organized both nationally AND locally. Otherwise, we will be less than credible or effective, membership and participation will continue to dissipate, and the country will further careen into oblivion.

If patriotic organizations remain splintered and parochial, we are doomed, as is our country. It’s time for patriots to get very, VERY serious and much more activist. Learn from the Left. Read More...

NAPOLITANO: The right to shoot tyrants, not deer

by Andrew Napolitano

Posted January 17, 2013

"The principal reason the colonists won the American Revolution is that they possessed weapons equivalent in power and precision to those of the British government."

"We also defeated the King's soldiers because they didn’t know who among us was armed, because there was no requirement of a permission slip from the government in order to exercise the right to self-defense. (Imagine the howls of protest if permission were required as a precondition to exercising the freedom of speech.)

Today, the limitations on the power and precision of the guns we can lawfully own not only violate our natural right to self-defense and our personal sovereignties, they assure that a tyrant can more easily disarm and overcome us."

"...the Second Amendment’s protection of the right to keep and bear arms is not that it protects the right to shoot deer. It protects the right to shoot tyrants, and it protects the right to shoot at them effectively, with the same instruments they would use upon us."

"If the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto had had the firepower and ammunition that the Nazis had, some of Poland might have stayed free and more persons would have survived the Holocaust."

Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions in the State

measure would make any federal firearms legislation passed by Congress or approved by Presidential order unenforceable in Texas

Posted January 18, 2013

A Texas lawmaker says he plans to file the Firearms Protection Act, which would make any federal laws that may be passed by Congress or imposed by Presidential order which would ban or restrict ownership of semi-automatic firearms or limit the size of gun magazines illegal in the state, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Republican Rep. Steve Toth says his measure also calls for felony criminal charges to be filed against any federal official who tries to enforce the rule in the state.

"If a federal official comes into the state of Texas to enforce the federal executive order, that person is subject to criminal prosecution," Toth told 1200 WOAI's Joe Pags Tuesday.  He says his bill would make attempting to enforce a federal gun ban in Texas punishable by a $50,000 fine and up to five years in prison.

Sen. Ted Cruz Predicts Gun Control Fight Will Give Republicans the Senate in 2014

Posted January 18, 2013

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday predicted President Barack Obama’s push for new gun control legislation will not only fail, but pave the way for Republicans to recapture the majority in the Senate in 2014.

“I think the consequence, I think he’s going to pay a serious political price,” Cruz said in a radio interview with conservative host Laura Ingraham. “And I think the price that’s going to be paid on this is going to manifest in Senate races in 2014.”

Fire Arms Protection Act - We Need To Get Behind It Now

Re-Posted January 18, 2013

Any future federal laws passed by Congress or executive orders imposed by President Barack Obama aimed at restricting the ownership of semi-automatic guns or limiting the size of magazines will be considered illegal in Texas — that is, if a newly proposed bill makes it through the Texas legislature.

GOP Rep. Steve Toth said he plans to introduce the “Firearms Protection Act,” which calls for felony criminal charges to be filed against any federal official who tries to enforce new gun-restricting regulations in the Lone Star State.
