7 Reasons Conservatives Don't Trust the Republican Establishment

Posted January 16, 2013

Just as moderates are completely unrepresented in a Democratic Party that's dominated by liberals, movement conservatives often don't feel represented by the Republican Party. At first glance, this seems rather odd since most Republicans in Congress are conservative. However, it's a natural reaction to the Republican establishment that has its hands welded to many of the GOP's levers of power. The Republican Party may be mostly conservative, but there are a multitude of reasons that you can't trust the establishment Republicans as far as you can throw them. Read More...

Oregon sheriff to Joe Biden: I won’t enforce new federal gun laws

Posted January 16, 2013

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon sheriff has sent a letter to Vice President Joe Biden saying his department will not enforce any new gun laws it considers unconstitutional.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller, in his letter dated Monday, said politicians are “attempting to exploit the deaths of innocent victims” by supporting laws that would harm law-abiding Americans. The sheriff said he took an oath to support the Constitution, and laws preventing citizens from owning certain semi-automatic firearms and ammunition magazines would violate their rights. More...

Rand Paul On Obama: 'I Am Against Having a King'

Posted January 16, 2013

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) "I'm against having a king. I think having a monarch is what we fought the American Revolution over and someone who wants to bypass the Constitution, bypass Congress -- that's someone who wants to act like a king or a monarch."

"I've been opposed to executive orders, even with Republican presidents. But one that wants to infringe on the Second Amendment, we will fight tooth and nail,"

Obama to Announce Gun Ban Surrounded by Children

Posted January 16, 2013

Fox is reporting that this gun ban will be demagogued announced as Dear Leader Obama is surrounded by sweet-faced props youngsters.

Somewhere Piers Morgan is smiling.

We might learn more  between now and noon tomorrow, but as of now, nothing currently being reported points to anything with respect to the Obama White House pushing to restrict the entertainment industry's First Amendment rights.

While the Left and the media (but I repeat myself) are quite obviously obsessed with their ongoing culture war against the kind of Red Staters these gun laws will predominantly affect, at least some phony, shallow lip service had been paid to the idea that certain video games and films that celebrate violence might also be part of the problem.

Australia's Wayne Swan Blames TEA Party for Global Economic Woes

Revised January 15, 2013

WAYNE Swan has blamed the conservative Tea Party movement in the US for damaging the global economy and contributing to the “whack” to Australia’s budget position that has ruined Labor’s planned 2012-13 surplus.

The Acting Prime Minister and Treasurer used Twitter yesterday to warn that the looming fiscal cliff in the US, coupled with the European debt crisis, had directly affected Australia by reducing tax receipts, thus undermining next year’s budget surplus. Read More...

A Rebuttal from a Patriot to Wayne Swan

January 15, 2013

Wayne, Sure would like to debate you on what a tea party member is all about. I would like to tell you how he/she loves America, Freedom and liberty. I would tell you how many of us fought in the Military in foreign wars, and came home to see our politicians acting like the ones they sent us to fight. Boy would I like to tell you something, Mister. You do not have a clue, who we are or what we stand for. Do not guess that matters to you, but I would like to tell you a thing or two. RRose US Army Special Forces, Mike Force Vietnam 1968-69, retired Police Investigator and most of all a Patriot of Freedom and Liberty for all. For all, I say; not just the politician.

Editor Note: Mr. Swan, the ball is in your court. If you would like to have a conversation with Mr. Rose, we can arrange the introduction.

Joe Biden: White House Has Identified 19 Executive Actions Obama Can Take on Guns

Posted January 15, 2013

Vice President Joe Biden on Monday told a group of sympathetic House Democrats that the White House has identified 19 executive actions President Barack Obama can take to unilaterally act on gun control, Politico reports.

Because the Obama administration understands that enacting sweeping gun control legislation through Congress would be difficult, it has placed an emphasis on the use of executive orders to get around Congress, the elected representatives of the American people, and strengthen gun regulations.

Fire Arms Protection Act - We Need To Get Behind It Now

Posted January 16, 2013

Any future federal laws passed by Congress or executive orders imposed by President Barack Obama aimed at restricting the ownership of semi-automatic guns or limiting the size of magazines will be considered illegal in Texas — that is, if a newly proposed bill makes it through the Texas legislature.

GOP Rep. Steve Toth said he plans to introduce the “Firearms Protection Act,” which calls for felony criminal charges to be filed against any federal official who tries to enforce new gun-restricting regulations in the Lone Star State.

Revealed: Obama's likely executive orders on guns

Group with enormous influence on White House issues specific plans

Posted January 16, 2013

A progressive group with enormous influence on White House policy has issued specific recommendations to the Obama administration on how to push sweeping gun control, including suggestions for executive orders.

The Center for American Progress released an 11-page proposal, reviewed by WND, calling for a full ban on the sale of assault weapons and magazines with a capacity for more than 10 bullets. CAP suggests legislation to require licensing and transfer restrictions on new and existing assault rifles.

The CAP paper, delivered to the White House last week, recommends that Obama issue executive orders requiring all states to collect more data on prospective gun owners for inclusion in a nationwide database.

Such a presidential edict would withhold funding to any state that does not provide the federal government with the names of all the individuals who are prohibited from owning firearms, including those barred from purchasing guns due to mental illness.

The executive action specifically would penalize states that fail to provide records to the National Instant Criminal Background System, or NICS, which is a point-of-sale system for determining eligibility to purchase a firearm.

The Purpose of the Second Amendment

Posted January 16, 2013

The President is ready to announce his plans to restrict gun ownership. Most likely, nothing the President proposes will do anything to stop a future Sandy Hook. We know the President understands he is putting Democrats in a terrible spot. We know because he did nothing after the Aurora, CO shooting in the midsts of a political campaign. He had to wait so he wouldn’t spook voters.

Now he will put the Democrats on the line. Senators Baucus, Begich, Hagan, Johnson, Landrieu, and Pryor — all Democrats from very pro-second amendment states who are up for re-election in 2014 — will be in jeopardy when, not if, the President overreaches.

In all the talk that has happened and will happen, the press and the general public seem willing to ignore the actual purpose of the second amendment.

The amendment is not about sports. It is not about recreation. It is not about hunting. It is only partly about defending yourself from a criminal.

The second amendment is about ensuring a “free state.”

Texas Republicans have a Primary Problem~

Posted January 15, 2013

It is true.

Think about this for a moment. Just as Weston Hicks stated in the article

Texas Conservative Responsibility ~ AgendaWise.com

“……if transparency and accountability are good things, running a speaker race, regardless of the outcome, is excellent for the state of Texas.

This is because normal order in politics is to have a small band of unapologetic bad guys in the legislature, a small band of unapologetic good guys in the legislature, and a huge ambiguous middle who are relatively unsorted.

The speaker’s race changes all of that. It basically provides Texans rankings for the entire House. Who has guts, and did they have it early, middle, or late?”

What is interesting about what has transpired on the ground as the speakers race unfoldeded is the the huge ambiguous middle has been exposed. With the networking and coordination of Tea Party/Grassroots/Conservative Republican/Conservative Libertarians the political establishment is going to be hearing from folks at home. Get ready for the primary folks because it is time to clean the Texas House! Read More...

Early Voting Under Way in the Special Election for Texas Senate District 6

Posted January 12, 2013

R.W. BrayDay one of the Texas Senate District 6 Special Election was astounding.  There were a total of 328 votes cast from all the early voting locations and mail-in as reported by the office of the county clerk.

Only 288 people actually walked into a polling place on Wednesday. 40 votes were cast by mail-in.

Over the 12-day early voting period, an average of 328 votes would put the total of votes cast below 4,000! More votes are cast in races for president of the student body.

There are just under 250,000 registered voters in this district! Despite the socialist Dems flooding television with ads, this race is under the radar. Whoever is able to inform their voters and get them to the polls, will be the victor.

There is only one conservative in the race and that is R.W. Bray. We need to rally the troops and do what we can to help R.W. Bray win this race. More on R.W. Bray
