T.J. Fabby - Tea Party 911 Supported Candidate for the Texas House of Representatives in District 10 in the 2014 Elections

Posted September 18, 2013

T.J. Fabby for the Texas House in District 10

T.J. Fabby
Republican Candidate for the Texas House of Representatives - District 10

The son of a U.S. Marine, T.J. has always had a love for freedom and the Constitution, but in late 2007 T.J. started to become very worried about the state of our nation. He began to see just how far from the Constitution the government has gotten and that both parties have been complicit in growing the government for decades. In early 2009, T.J. started a Tea Party group, Ellis County Conservatives, and began to organize his friends and neighbors. At the end of 2009, he left his position as operations manager for a Houston-based equipment company and began his own business, Liberty Container. His main objective was to give himself more free time to devote to the cause of liberty and returning the government to its proper place; under the control of the people. Now, having been ignored by our federal and state elected officials, T.J. has decided to run for office again in order to help return our state government to its roots and give Constitutional representation back to the people of Ellis and western Henderson counties.

T.J. Fabby & FamilyT.J. was born in Bisbee, Arizona on April 23rd, 1981 and his family moved to Ferris, Texas when he was just a month old. At 32 years old, he has never known any other life than Ellis County, Texas life. T.J. went to school in Red Oak and graduated from Red Oak High School in 2000. From there, he went to a fire-fighting academy at Texas A&M Commerce where he graduated in the top of his class and received his certification. He quickly worked his way up in the industry and eventually found himself in operations management.

In 2004, T.J. married his high school crush, Ashley, and they live on the outskirts of Waxahachie with their two children, Jordyn and Jimi.

On the Issues

Right to Life

The fact that we accept and allow by law the killing of the most innocent in our society makes us uncivilized.  We can do better than this.  Many politicians pay lip service to pro-life advocacy, but very few have actually fought to pass legislation to end abortion. I pledge to do everything in my power to stifle and end this murderous practice in Texas.  I am dedicated to the restoration of the right to life for every innocent person, born and unborn.

Rest assured, I walk my talk.  During the 2nd Special Session I spent time in Austin supporting the abortion bill.  I was proud to join with many hundreds of other Pro-Life Texas activists in that effort.

Gun Rights

At the time of its signing, the framers of the United States Constitution had fought a war for their liberties against an oppressive government just five years earlier. This war was not fought with sticks and stones, but with rifles and cannons. The founders knew that an armed people stood a better chance of remaining a free people. Those brave souls who fought against Santa Anna and claimed Texas’ independence knew this as well. The purpose of the 2nd amendment was not to enable the people to hunt or defend themselves from common criminals, although these are benefits of the 2nd amendment, but rather to enable the people to protect themselves from their own government if it ever became oppressive.

The problem with gun laws is that they only restrict law abiding citizens. The notion that stricter gun legislation would reduce violent crime is ludicrous. A criminal is not restrained by law until they are caught. So if a criminal is willing to break the law to commit a robbery or murder, then they would have no problem breaking the law in order to obtain the gun to do it with. Therefore, I am opposed to ALL gun legislation that gets in the way of a law abiding citizen owning a gun.

Property Rights & Taxes

When hard working people are not allowed to keep what they have worked hard to earn, they will soon become an unproductive people, especially when they see so many around them getting something for nothing. I oppose any tax that targets a specific group or taxes productivity.

Individual property ownership does not exist in the State of Texas. When property owners have paid off their mortgage, they are still required to pay a tax to the state each year in order to keep their property. This is not freedom!

I support a broad based sales tax. A consumption tax is the best way to be sure that the tax burden is spread out evenly. The wealthy would automatically pay more in taxes because they consume more. The poor would automatically pay less because they consume less. Let’s stop taxing what is earned and start taxing what is consumed. Let’s end property taxes and eminent domain abuse. Let’s restore property rights in Texas.
